Work to Begin Monday at East Post Road and Highway 100 Intersection
The mast arm for southbound traffic at the intersection of Highway 100 and East Post Road recently sustained damage. For the public’s safety, beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 11, the mast arm will be taken down and a temporary span wire will be put up in its place. This work will take approximately two days to complete. During this time, the signal will operate in an all-way flash and/or stop sign control. Expect some traffic lane and turn lane closures at this intersection during this time. It is highly recommended that you find alternative routes, as there will be traffic delays. In May, the City contracted design work for the Hwy 100 & E Post Rd Traffic Signals and Turn Lane Improvement Project. The temporary span wire will be up until the project begins and new poles and turn lanes are added at this intersection. We appreciate your patience as we proceed with this emergency repair.
Mobile Speed Camera Deployed
The mobile speed camera is operational and has begun issuing warnings until Sept. 17, 2023, after which speeding citations will be issued. The vehicle is a blue Ford Escape and it will be repositioned approximately every other day to various parts of the city. The location will be announced on the Police Department’s social media pages at least 12 hours in advance. The stationary cameras at Highway 151/Highway 13 and Highway 100/East Post Road are currently issuing warnings. Actual citations will start being issued on Sept. 17, 2023. The stationary cameras monitor both speed and redlight violations. Please drive carefully and observe the traffic laws.
